Brand Of The Week

I'm back with my next instalment of brand of the week, and this week I've chosen a company that has recently made a big impression on myself...

I only heard of the brand a few weeks ago whilst I was at work. They create hair products that aim to strengthen, grow and condition your hair, helping it look, feel, and be in the best condition possible. As you may have seen on my Instagram, I attended their press launch at the Cheeky salon in Shoreditch, had a glass of Prosecco and had my nails done, it was a great event full of bloggers, media and press.

Since receiving their goodie bag I have only managed to try out one product, their 10-in-1 Cleansing Conditioner. This product is said to be a shampoo replacement, so no need to continue your standard shampoo and conditioner routine, it's all in one! I had looked up reviews saying that it made your hair feel instantly smoother and easier to style, they weren't lying! I could see the results after just one wash, not only was it smooth and easy to style, but it also made my hair look lighter, which is always a plus in my books!

This is a brand and product that I would definitely recommend.

Love,
K.

Brand Of The Week

This week I've chosen an old favourite as my brand of the week...

I don't think that I have ever heard of anybody being let down by one of their products, they are absolutely superb! I used their Silver Shampoo around last Christmas to give my blonde hair that extra oomph (it tends to get dark and dull in the winter months). It was a product that I'd completely forgotten about and is now back on my radar as I'm looking to brighten my hair, but only through the use of shampoos (I never dye). I remember that this shampoo was amazing, I used it twice a week and could see great results after just two weeks. If you're looking for an affordable brightener this is the one for you. They also have some crazy colours such as rose, tangerine, peach, sea punk, violet and loads more!

Bold, Bright & Blonde!

Due to the rapid change in weather (will we ever see Summer?!) , I've decided to do a post on brightening shampoos. My hair has been really dull and dark recently, and being a natural blonde i'm always looking forward to the Summer to get some rays through my hair. Unfortunately, British weather isn't looking too good recently and i've resorted to trying some colour enhancing shampoos, to give my hair the little lift it needs. I thought i'd share three of the shampoos that i've been using, and give them a quick review...

Bleach London : Silver Shampoo (£5.00)
After having been recommended this product from my housemate I had high hopes for this. I used it a few weeks ago when I was in desperate need of brightening my hair before my University Summer Ball. I used it 3 days straight, and left it in for 5 minutes before washing it out. It's great! I know it suggests using the product every other day, but I was on a tight schedule and decided to ignore the bottle (silly I know). Due to using it three days in a row my hair felt unhealthy and dry. Overall this is a super product, it's perfect for anyone looking to brighten their hair over a week-two week process.

Pro:Voke : Touch of Silver (£3.19)
Alike the previous product I had heard many people praise this shampoo, and decided to give it a go myself. I used this product over the Christmas period, and unfortunately didn't see any improvement in the colour or brightness of my hair. Although it's a great price, you're better off buying a good quality shampoo for a pound or two more.

Charles Worthington : Violet Shampoo (£5.99)
I love this shampoo! Although it doesn't work as fast as Bleach London, it's perfect as a weekly shampoo. Unlike other brightening products it keeps your hair hydrated whilst also giving it that extra glow.

WINNER: Charles Worthington!

Hope this helps anyone looking to give their hair a sun-kissed glow.

Dry Shampoo Best Picks!

Festival season is well and truly upon us, and for those of you braving the mud pools and mosh pits here's my top three dry shampoos to get your hair through the weekend....

1. Tony&Guy Texture Dry Shampoo

Last but not least Tony&Guy's Matte Texture Dry Shampoo. This product can be used not only as a quick fix in the morning, but also as a beauty product even when you hair is already grease free. Due to the matte texture element of the product this can be used as a daily treatment when you hair is looking flat and dull. Simply spray on to give you hair that bouncy texture, perfect for a festival chic look!

2. Batiste Dry Shampoo with a hint of colour for light and blonde hair

This Dry shampoo is great for Blondes! This specific product is specifically for blonde hair, and has a hint of colour to reduce the white powdery substance often left after use. I highly recommend this product! For more information visit my previous post Batiste Dry Shampoo Review. I also recommend the Batiste Coconut and Exotic Tropical Dry Shampoo for a quick fix with a great smell.

3. Percy and Reed's No-fuss Fabulous Dry Shampoo

This product is perfect for all hair-types! As a liquid based dry shampoo- rather than powder based- this treatment leaves hair feeling refreshed instantly without visible white remnants being left on you hair. Also perfect for adding texture to your hair, spray into your roots and run through with your hands to create a wild and free look perfect for that festival vibe.

For those of you off to festivals I hope this post has helped you choose your go-to hair product!

Batiste Dry Shampoo Review

Batiste Dry Shampoo with a hint of colour for light and blonde hair...

Being blonde myself i've been meaning to review this product for a while. The product is supposed to instantly refresh hair on those days where you simply don't have enough time to shampoo. Unlike their other products this specific hair treatment is for blonde hair, and has a hint of colour to reduce the white powdery substance often left after use. After using the product- until the very last drop- I have decided that it is simply amazing! It does exactly what it says, refreshes and cleans without leaving a white layer on your hair. I'd recommend this product to any other blondes looking for a quick and easy dry shampoo for those rushed mornings.

Mini boots haul!

Hello All! I thought I would share my recent mini haul from boots (can you tell it has just been pay day?)

First on my list of must buys is the new Aussie Miracle Dry Shampoo - I chose the Aussome Volume one even though it's for fine hair because lets be honest, who doesn't want more volume? I can't speak much yet for how well it works as my hair is newly washed. However, I can say that it smells incredible! Keep an eye out on Instagram for updates on this one.

I was desperate to repurchase some gimme brow as mine is dangerously close to being completely used up. Probably due to the fact that I use it every day, sometimes twice. Yes I like it that much. While I was there I was eyeing up the new addition to the benefit line - the Majorette blush. This is beautiful and not only due to the gorgeous packaging but also because of the sumptuous cream to powder texture that literally glides on and the fabulous coral colour that is almost NARS-like in its beauty.

Oh and the L'oreal Confetti top coat somehow sneaked its way into my basket, again I haven't tried this yet but as soon as my gels come off I will give these cute little speckles a bash.

Now last but no means least - YSL Volupte Sheer Candy in number 5. This is a really stunning, no mirror, deep berry, super moisturising and all round fabulous lipstick. I have wanted this since my last little pay day outing when it was unfortunately out of stock. I now own it - and I am over the moon!

London Fashion Week 2014

So as you know, over the summer I spent 3 months working as a web intern for House of Holland, and my god what an experience it was! This was my first time interning in the world of fashion and unless you've done it yourself, you definitely have no idea what is in store for you. Blood, sweat and tears is a saying that comes to mind. All the hard worked paid off in the end! I was lucky enough to be able to watch the SS15 show at London Fashion week!
Here are a few of the pics that I managed to take ...

I learnt loads and had a blast along the way, making friendships with people i'm certain I will stay in touch with for years to come.

And yes, when I left I got a few goodies from the stock room .. take a look -

My hair routine: Moroccan Oil, Living Proof Prime Style Extender and the rest.

I get lots of compliments on my hair, people seem to like it, to the point that strangers in the street or in petrol stations think its okay to stroke it (no joke). This is probably due to the fact that it's bright red, but I like to think its because its nice and healthy.

I personally love Moroccan Oil; it repairs hair, adds shine, helps protect against heat and it even speeds up hair drying time. I use a 10p size amount (I have lots of hair to nourish) and take it through my ends with my fingers while my hair is wet. But I also use it on dry hair occasionally when my hair is looking a bit lacklustre.

While my hair is still wet I whack on some of the Living Proof Prime Style Extender on my roots, this helps keep my hair nicely in place and repels dirt and oils therefore keeping my freshly washed hair fresher for a little longer.

I also use a variety of hair and scalp masks, but have never really found one that has made me stay loyal. However, I have recently started using Dead Sea Spa Magik (their spelling) Conditioning Scalp Mud which, so far, I am loving. I put this on wet hair when I first get in the shower and put conditioner on the ends, leave it on few a few minutes while I wash and scrub my body. Then I shampoo my hair a couple of times to make sure it's all out. Then after all of this I have conditioned my scalp and hair but Im still not at risk of being greasy anytime too soon, perfect! However, this routine without the Moroccan Oil may leave your hair slightly dry.

Lastly as far as shampoo and conditioner goes, I am fiercely loyal to Aussie Colour Mate. These two beauties keep my hair lovely and red and ensure that I don't fade to a strange pinky colour in between dyes.
