What I'm Loving Right Now | Non- beauty special.

I thought I would share a few of my current obsessions in life. Just because it's nice to share with you guys that my life isn't all about makeup.

The first thing is a teapot. Yes, a teapot. Anyone who follows our instagram will have been privy to my love of glass teapots. There is something very satisfying about watching your tea brew. Don't ask me why but there is. The one above has some mango and bergamot waiting to be made into iced tea on a particularly sunny day.

A few weeks ago I went on a perfume specific shopping trip (I know what an exciting life I do lead). And I was fully prepared to drop some serious money in my search for the perfect scent. I tried a crazy amount of perfume that day, pretty much every single one with rose in. I kept coming back to Paul Smith Rose. And I have come to the conclusion that for a Rose lover, as I am, this is the holy grail of perfumes. It is the most perfect rose, I can't even do it justice, my advice is to go and smell it. Now. You will thank me.

These shoes are a bit on the crazy side for me but I was drawn in by a particularly energetic sales assistant at Office. Once I got over the pure weight of the shoes I came to love them, mostly because they are so comfortable, I went to my days meeting and was stomping around covent garden all day in these bad boys and I didn't even have to put on my back up flats.

This watch was a longtime coming, I wore the same watch everyday since my 15th birthday. But the wait was so worth it! This watch is technically a man's watch, but take a few links out on hey presto, no one would ever know. I'm not going to rave about this watch too much because it's not actually available in this country yet as far as I am aware. However, if this does change I will be sure to post about it on instagram so keep your eyes peeled.

Desktop Beauty

As you have probably all deduced by now, I am addicted to products. Therefore, since starting full time work I have had to adjust slightly. However I have experimented and come up with the perfect little trio for my desk to keep me going during the day. Don't get me wrong, if I could get away with it I would be putting on a cheeky face mask during the day but, I'm not sure my clients would still be my clients if they saw me with the glam glow mud mask on my face (to be fair it is truly terrifying).

Firstly, my Reve de Miel. Ohhh what would I do without this? I have 3 on the go at the moment; one on my desk, one in my handbag and one on my bedside table. I am addicted to this stuff, it smells so nice, and it is so creamy and moisturising. This keeps my lips beautifully soft and it keeps me a very happy lady.

This Caudalie eau de Beaute is such a princess product. But I adore it. Literally adore. My job is one of those up and down, everything goes wrong before it can go right kind of jobs so this is where Caudalie come and save the day by de-stressing me with just a few spritzes. And it actually works! Magic.

This next one is a complete surprise entry. I tried this once while walking past the nails inc counter and I was immediately infatuated. It has a really lovely classic but fresh scent and a beautiful velvety texture. It sinks in quickly so I don't leave a film all over my keyboard and mouse and the handy pump is perfect for a quick surge of moisture without faff. And to top it all off its a nice bottle, perfect desktop companion.

So that's it, my little desktop trio who keep me moisturised and de-stressed while at work. On a side note, excuse the cheeky orange in the pictures trying to get its 15 minutes of fame.

Socks and Sandals: Do's and Don'ts

So after much deliberation I have come to the conclusion that yes, socks and sandals are now acceptable in day to day fashion. BUT, there are still many rules that you must follow for it to be fashion forward thinking rather than old grandpa chic.

1- These sandals must be either, A- Sliders or B- Dollys

2- These can't be any plain jane socks. These socks can either be sports wear, those that accompany your typical Nike/Addidas sliders, crazy design socks e.g those with chips or cosmos covering them, frilly socks- yes those socks you used to wear when you were 5 are back in fashion and even I, a 19 year old girl have been wearing them, and it's acceptable ! I tend to pair these pastel frilly socks with my white dolly sandals, but can often be paired with plain coloured trainers.

3- Please DO NOT WEAR SOCKS WITH FLIP FLOPS, this is definitely not a good look. Whilst commuting into London every day for my internship there was one lady who continued to ignore this rule and without fail wore socks with flip flops every day. Hats off to her in that she honestly didn't care, but it was not a favourite outfit choice of mine.

4- Wear your socks sandals look with confidence. One thing that nobody can deny is that when you look confident in an outfit, others accept and appreciate your fashion choice a lot more than if they have seen a shy person who is questioning their outfit choice.
