Burberry SS17 At Makers House

Burberry SS17 has been a show like no other. Not only was the opening night accompanied by a beautiful classical orchestra, some truly talented models, and gorgeous garments (Burberry always deliver), but this year they have decided to keep Makers House open to the public to display some of Britain's finest craft makers work alongside their collection. This exquisite display was truly unique and showcased original artwork, the processes of their creation, and had a daily changing schedule of programmed activities!

You entered through what initially seemed like an old abandoned archway, or a space from a previous garage, which then turned into a beautiful courtyard filled with figures, fairy lights and shrubbery.
They even put cute little tables and chairs out so you could enjoy a slice of cake or a cup of tea from their cafe.
Here are some of the craftsmanship examples...
I then went on to look at their mood walls full of vision, historical influences and beautiful patterns.
Finally, I ventured upstairs to see their current collection, full of beautiful detail, and a true fusion of new and old. As you arrived you read a sign stating that Burberry SS17's aim was to deliver a collection that reveled in the traditional and true craftsmanship, a show that blurred the lines between masculine and feminine, and in particular drew from Virginia Woolf's 'Orlando'.
There were some beautiful pieces displayed with intricate detail, more nightwear as daywear, cloaks, layers, and lots of beautiful silk. The only thing that I wish there was more of was written explanation of the processes in addition to their graphic and beautiful mood boards.

Brand Of The Week

This week I've chosen an old favourite as my brand of the week...

I don't think that I have ever heard of anybody being let down by one of their products, they are absolutely superb! I used their Silver Shampoo around last Christmas to give my blonde hair that extra oomph (it tends to get dark and dull in the winter months). It was a product that I'd completely forgotten about and is now back on my radar as I'm looking to brighten my hair, but only through the use of shampoos (I never dye). I remember that this shampoo was amazing, I used it twice a week and could see great results after just two weeks. If you're looking for an affordable brightener this is the one for you. They also have some crazy colours such as rose, tangerine, peach, sea punk, violet and loads more!

GRAZIA x Tu LFW Pop Up

Hey guys! Yesterday I stumbled upon a great Pop Up from GRAZIA and Tu clothing (yes as in Sainsbury's), but don't click that red X just yet! Lured in by the GRAZIA name, I walked around to check out what it was all about. This Pop Up was and still is situated in Soho to celebrate LFW and to showcase Tu Clothing's new AW collection. Let's just say I was beyond surprised by this showcase, the clothes were beautiful, with items rivaling the likes of Zara, H&M, New Look, Topshop and even Urban Outfitters. Their collection is full of gorgeous frocks and garments that celebrate the epitome of fall clothing with a beautiful range of autumnal shades.

Here are a few of the items that I will be considering purchasing myself over the next few weeks, because a girl can never have too many clothes, especially in autumn and winter when it's all about the layers!

Tan Corduroy Skirt

Black Printed Jumpsuit

Navy Corduroy Dungaree Dress

Blue Denim Pinafore

balance me Flash Cleanse Micellar Water Review

balance me are a company that I have supported for around 2-3 years, they endorse and create natural cosmetic products for every woman; young, old, you name it. I was super excited when I had found out that they had released a micellar water as its a match made in heaven(I'm a maaaaasssive fan of the Garnier micellar products) so I couldn't wait to try it out! Micellar water is a super product that makes your evening face routine 100x easier, you don't even need to go near the bathroom sink, simply splash a bit of this formula onto a pad and wipe your face, magic!
Last night I tried out this product and to no surprise though it was great! I have had issues with some micellar waters in the past as you need to scrub your face really hard to get all the makeup and dirt off, but with this formula, my face was clean within a few wipes. I only have two criticisms; 1. The bottle says to push down twice and apply, I would instead recommend pumping at least 3-4 times (but no biggy), and 2. The smell of the product isn't that great. For something like this I'd say either go completely scentless or go full-on, this was neither and smelt a bit like a mild bathroom cleaner (I've got to be honest). All in all, this is a great product, I will be using it until the bottle is finished, but I'm not sure if I'll be purchasing it again.

K.

Brand Of The Week

Hi Guys, sorry that I've left it a little over a week to write my next installment in this series! I was away on holiday and have just got back into the swing of work.

This week I am happy to announce that my chosen brand is...

These high protein drinks are absolutely delicious! I was a bit reluctant to try them at first as I'm not the biggest fan of coconut water, but as this supplement is mixed with whey protein and natural flavourings it tastes just like a yoghurt drink (with a slightly thinner texture)! I've been using it for when I'm on the run and don't have enough time to eat a snack and as an extra protein boost throughout the day, as I often struggle to get enough in my diet!

I'd highly recommend this product! It's so yummy!

Guinot Product Review

Guinot is a brand that I have been lucky enough to stumble across due to work. Their products are advertised as being all-natural and animal-friendly (no animal testing), which is great news for those of us who are trying to feed our skin with the best products possible, and avoid nasty chemicals which can often produce horrible side effects. After attending their Christmas Press Launch (at the amazing Ham Yard Hotel- SO COOL) back in July, I have been eager to try out all of the goodies that they gave me, and see whether they really work.
I'm afraid this is only part 1 of a two episode series of my reviews of these products, because they gave me soo many goodies that I haven't been able to try them all out yet! So here are the three that I have been absolutely lusting over the past few weeks...

1. Douche Mirific Shower Gel
This is honestly the only shower gel that I have ever used which has a sweet clean smell that lasts all day long! Most shower gels smell lovely whilst you are applying them in the shower, but after you've got out dried yourself with a towel and put on some clothes you can barely smell the scent. I love the smell of passion flower, so this is a definite keeper for me, plus it managed to keep my skin fairly moisturised, which is an added bonus as I have horrifically dry skin.

2. Masque Yeux Instant Eye Mask
After attending a beauty event around a year ago and having an expert's opinion on the health of my skin (they used this really cool UV machine that highlights where your skin is most dehydrated), I found out that my under eyes are the most dehydrated aspect of my face, with the rest seeming pretty healthy and normal. When they showed me this product at the Guinot press launch I couldn't wait to try it, as I had been making the rounds trying every eye cream you could imagine. This eye mask is perfect for hydrating those dark bags. It also managed to get rid of some dark marks I had developed by the crows feet of my eyes, maybe due to over wearing liquid eyeliner? I'm not too sure. But all in all, a really good product that I'd recommend.

3. Nutrologic Nourishing Body Balm
This one says what it does on the tin. Not anything much I can particularly rave about, but all-in-all a fairly good body butter. But unfortunately, I'd recommend various creams and lotions that are a fraction of the price, but that's just my opinion.

Hope you've enjoyed these three product reviews! I'll be back with part 2 sometime soon!

Brand of The Week

It's that time again! This week I'm excited to announce that my brand of the week is...

Reclaimed Vintage! from ASOS

I honestly can't get enough of this brand at the moment. I fell in love with this clutch bag and had to buy it straight away! It was such a steal and will be perfect for my holiday that I'm jetting off on tomorrow morning! I'm so excited to match it with my evening outfits and show it off! They have some beautiful pieces on offer that will help you rock that boho olde-worlde chic. It's going to be very hard to stop myself from buying more of their products... maybe just one or two more?

Hope you guys love this brand of the week as much as I do!

Love,

K.
