Batiste Dry Shampoo Review

Batiste Dry Shampoo with a hint of colour for light and blonde hair...

Being blonde myself i've been meaning to review this product for a while. The product is supposed to instantly refresh hair on those days where you simply don't have enough time to shampoo. Unlike their other products this specific hair treatment is for blonde hair, and has a hint of colour to reduce the white powdery substance often left after use. After using the product- until the very last drop- I have decided that it is simply amazing! It does exactly what it says, refreshes and cleans without leaving a white layer on your hair. I'd recommend this product to any other blondes looking for a quick and easy dry shampoo for those rushed mornings.

Bumble and Bumble | Our top product picks

So bumble and bumble is a brand that both myself and K are adoring at the moment so we thought we could do a little post declaring our faves.

As we all know S is the mental product collector so obviously I couldn't narrow it down to one product, I have 2 (well 3 but I'm counting shampoo and conditioner as one) My first pick is the BB Straight Blow dry, pour le brushing. I love this stuff, I don't have particularly frizzy hair but I do have a lot of very unruly wavy hair and this little miracle tames it effortlessly. Definitely a new staple in my hair routine.

Secondly, I nominate the Color Minded Shampoo and Conditioner. Before using this I was a staunch Aussie Colour Mate kind of girl but since experiencing the pure unadulterated pleasure of using the Bumble and bumble stuff I don't know if I can ever go back. The conditioner is so creamy and does exactly what you would want conditioner to do - nourish and in this case help me cling on to my colour for slightly longer. And now we reach the shampoo... When I first used this I was concerned by the thick creamy almost conditioner-esque texture. However, I was amazed at how quickly this washed out of my hair, washing shampoo out of my hair is usually a long and arduous task but with Bumble and bumble this is the case no more. I won't rant forever but basically I love it. I even love it enough to forgive the way they spell colour.

While S loves the smooth and slick look, our hair is pretty different, both in colour and texture. I've got blonde wavy hair, and my look is more messy and curly, accented by layers. Unfortunately, due to every day shampooing to prevent it from being destroyed by chlorine (I used to swim competitively), my hair cannot go more than one day without being treated. So, after going through product after product I finally decided to try out Bumble and Bumble's Gentle Shampoo. This product works like a dream! Finally I can go more than one day without having to shampoo and treat my hair  like a normal person. It does exactly what it says! I would recommend this product to anyone that struggles with either greasy or over treated hair.

My hair routine: Moroccan Oil, Living Proof Prime Style Extender and the rest.

I get lots of compliments on my hair, people seem to like it, to the point that strangers in the street or in petrol stations think its okay to stroke it (no joke). This is probably due to the fact that it's bright red, but I like to think its because its nice and healthy.

I personally love Moroccan Oil; it repairs hair, adds shine, helps protect against heat and it even speeds up hair drying time. I use a 10p size amount (I have lots of hair to nourish) and take it through my ends with my fingers while my hair is wet. But I also use it on dry hair occasionally when my hair is looking a bit lacklustre.

While my hair is still wet I whack on some of the Living Proof Prime Style Extender on my roots, this helps keep my hair nicely in place and repels dirt and oils therefore keeping my freshly washed hair fresher for a little longer.

I also use a variety of hair and scalp masks, but have never really found one that has made me stay loyal. However, I have recently started using Dead Sea Spa Magik (their spelling) Conditioning Scalp Mud which, so far, I am loving. I put this on wet hair when I first get in the shower and put conditioner on the ends, leave it on few a few minutes while I wash and scrub my body. Then I shampoo my hair a couple of times to make sure it's all out. Then after all of this I have conditioned my scalp and hair but Im still not at risk of being greasy anytime too soon, perfect! However, this routine without the Moroccan Oil may leave your hair slightly dry.

Lastly as far as shampoo and conditioner goes, I am fiercely loyal to Aussie Colour Mate. These two beauties keep my hair lovely and red and ensure that I don't fade to a strange pinky colour in between dyes.
