Grammy Awards 2015

The Grammys is a clear focal point the fashion calendar, and an event which the big question is uttered a thousand times in one night 'who are you wearing?'. And as per usual there were some bold fashion statements (some possibly a bit too bold). So here's a list of my best and worst outfit's of the 2015 Grammys....

Best:

This beautifully detailed dress goes hand-in-hand with Katy's new bright hair style, complimenting each other perfectly.

Worst:
Although similar dress designs have managed to look elegant in the past Rita's new hair with the choice of shiny material is all wrong!

Best:

A bit more risqué on the cut out placements, but with the natural makeup and simple hair style this is a definite best of the night! And lets be honest, we've seen her in far less...

Worst:

Need I say more.

Best:

Many have critiqued Iggy's choice of hair, but paired with this gorgeous dress she looks like a Greek Goddess.

Worst:

Many love this, but I for one can't get the image of a early 90s Barbie doll out of my head.

Best:

Yes jess! Simple but effective.

Worst:

I feel Kim is getting ready for a boxing match or a spa weekend.

Best:

Although in previous years Nikki has produced some of the boldest looks, this year she has chosen to go for something a bit more graceful that hugs her beautiful curves.

Worst:

I really just don't understand any of this, maybe thats the point?

Thanks for reading!

Fall Fitness Tips

As september slowly creeps upon us, and we return from our travels and holiday antics you can’t help but think ‘where did the summer go?’ but following this thought quickly follows the ‘what happened to my tummy?’ ‘maybe I had a few too many treats on holiday’.
Whilst some people may be motivated to jump straight back into their weekly gym routines, I feel rather sluggish and weak. I’ve realised that by rewarding myself with brand new (and rather colourful) gym gear, I feel more excited to get back to my motivated and healthier self. I believe that by spicing up your gym fashion, you may too find yourself more willing to go for that run or get on that treadmill.

Here are a few of my purchases that have made me eager to strut my stuff at the gym…

But my post does not finish here, I (with help from my boyfriend who is luckily a personal trainer) have come up with my top 5 exercise tips to help you out this September:

1-Slow and steady doesn't win the race! Add sprints and circuits to your workouts rather than hours and hours of cardio for the most bang for your buck. Try circuits with short rest periods to keep that heart rate up and get you burning more fat, and add some sprints at the end to finish off!

2 - Keep hydrated, your body needs water for most of your bodily functions and sweating from exercise can drain your bodies supplies

3 - No gym? no problem! If you can't get yourself to a gym, you can work out pretty much anywhere. Simple body weight circuits can be a quick and effective way to burn some calories and get your body moving at home, the park or even at your office during your lunch break!

4 - Weight a minute! don't be afraid to use the free weights and resistance machines, weight training will raise metabolism and help you burn fat throughout the day - and don't worry, you won't turn into a she-hulk!

5 - Shake a leg! Your thighs are the largest muscle in the body, and therefore they get through a lot of calories during exercise. Try performing squats, lunges and deadlifts to work those legs and get your body burning off fat.

Alex and Ani (+) Energy - Spiritual ornamental Jewellery

Alex and Ani are an American spiritual jewellery company. The franchise believe in the power of positive energy, which contributes to the formation of the base of their industry. The companies aim is to share the attributes and benefits of positive energy through their jewellery. Each of their ornaments have individual symbols which generate their positive energy through their unique beauty and spiritual meaning.

In this post I will display a few of the many charms which the brand have created that are infused with their positive energy.

These are my first three Alex and Ani Bangle charms. Each with their own unique symbol and spiritual meaning. It is said that these can only be worn in odd numbers, a spiritual balance or 'lucky' ora produced by the uneven count.

Working from the left, the first is the Endless Knot Charm Bracelet: this represents the interweaving and ever-changing spiritual path, the endless knot expresses boundless wisdom and compassion. It illustrates an eternal pattern in its design, connecting one's destiny bound by time and change. Wear the Endless Knot Charm to remind you of life's journey and the entanglements of faith.

Secondly, in the middle, is the Phoenix Wrap. The Phoenix, a mythical and sacred firebird known to rise from its ashes in regeneration. The creature is a symbol of divinity, loyalty and immortality. It is a reminder that transformation and change is good for the soul.

The third is the Path Of Life Charm Bangle. The symbol is representative of an infinite number of possibilities and expressions of love. Additionally illustrating the unexpected twists an turns in life. This charm can be warn to demonstrate your willingness to travel in pursuit of happiness.

My most recent addition to my collection is the Eye Of Horus Beaded Bracelet. An Egyptian symbol associated with intuition, good health, and protection in connection with the moon. Egyptian Kings were buried with the symbol as it was believed to keep you safe in the afterlife and ward off evil. It is  known for it's healing and protection abilities.

Alex and Ani(+)Energy have recently branched out internationally, opening stores in the UK after demonstrating their admirable conquest of the States. They are still rather exclusive in the UK due to only having two stores and one stand. Their stores can be found in Bath and Essex. Additionally they launched a shop within a shop, selling their items in Argento in Nottingham. I highly recommend Alex and Ani products due to their innovative designs and symbols.
